When is it coming out?

Hey all,

My dealer says around mid-late November to December 2002.

I am truly glad that Lexus decides to produce the GX470...the perfect size and the perfect engine! My brother has the LX470 and it is a great SUV...but, too big for me. Certainly the ONLY SUV to match it so far is the new Range Rover...but time will tell if the Range Rover can match it in quality and reliability. The Merc. G500 is so backwards that it won't appeal to anyone except the rappers and glamorous people.

Your dealer was right, Lexu sis aiming for mid-late November for sales. I assume they want to get them before the "Holidays."

I've heard there may be some delay until Jan. or Feb. I've to one of the Lexus engineer and his training for the GX in Torrence,CA is December which is about 2-3 months before the GX launch. May be I'm wrong and I hope I'm wrong. Can't wait.

When I saw and got in the prototype GX470 to evaluate, it is not much smaller than the LX470. Judging by my eyesight, it's about the same size. If you are used to the RX300, the GX470 is one cavernous vehicle.

GX Launch Timing

I heard that it'll probably be in showrooms for touch, feel, drive purposes, but probably not into full delivery mode until Jan/Feb. Besides even if it is out in Nov. most will be pre-sold as the lists are filling up quickly.
