I have a 2007 with 14,000 miles and navigator went out, lights on dash started flashing, car died. etc. Had towed to dealer who said alternator was cause. Why would this happen with a fairly new SUV with low miles? Now worried there are other problems I'm not aware of.

 

How good is the battery voltage,check it out, coz the alternator should have given lot of life, it is quite rear an alternator dying so fast.

 

An incorrect jump start will take out an alternator along with other components in a car regardless of mileage. Had a jump recently?
