I've got the Thule 2100 - same as cmarshack. It's on the stock rack and there aren't any issues. Throwing it up there by myself has left a few scratches on the crossbars though.

I was and have used the cargo box above and a sears xcargo model that I borrowed last year from family...Both worked fine with the factory bars.

Just curious, did you buy locally or find a good place online to pickup the Thule carriers? I need one for beach trips as I have a new 7month old addition to the family.

On a side note, hkochat's sport bumper really makes me want to pickup that accessory.

I picked mine up from Sears. Bought it online, picked it up at the local Sears "auto" location. Got a pretty sweet deal ($50 off online) on my X-Cargo Sport about a year ago. Paid $200 for it then, with the discount, now they're going for $180.

Pretty easy for me to install by myself too, even in my slightly slanted driveway (can't install in the garage since it's too short).

Thule Atlantis 1600 XT

$480 @ REI

The Lexus Link Antenna does get in the way on the back so it will need to be removed when you have it installed.

Excellent cargo box and very easy to install with lots of room. Mounts easily to the stock cross bars.

Any issues with vibration or squirrelly steering at highway speeds? Is there a max safe speed before you need to worry about contents leaving the roof?

Cool. I will need to get one for a long road trip and prefer to get the rack mounted version instead of one hanging off the hitch.

Bumping an old thread I'm 5'6, so not exactly "tall." Is there any graceful way of accessing the GX's roof and rooftop carrier? I'm finding myself having to use a painters ladder to try, but then arm span becomes an issue =D

What are your tricks to accessing the roof, safely?

Default Roof access

I stand on the rear tire and also stand on the little "step" area inside the rear doors with them open, just lateral to the seats. Works great for me, securing roof cargo, loading canoes, etc.
