Default Buying a GX470

My girlfriends been driving my GS around and now she has the bug. She wants a GX 470...Great, I know nothing about them. She's totally an impulsive buyer. I like to know what I'm looking for first.

GX owners. If you were going to buy your significant other a GX what are your must haves to be on it? She wants (needs) Navi, so that's a no brainer. But as far as other options...I'm lost.

Any years for me to look out for? What do you love and hate about the GX?

We are going to look Monday night...I just wanted to ping you guys for info first.

GX's tend to come pretty loaded. Navigation will usually get you ML sound, Bluetooth, it should have memory seats and everything else.

Your biggest question will be rear entertainment or not, and Lexus Link or not.

If you're buying used, buy a 2005 or newer, it has more hp and torque. Additionally, make sure it had the drive shaft TSB performed, if not make sure it's still under warranty so that you can have this done.

Like the other posters have said, they come pretty loaded. You can't go wrong!

Incidentally, I have a GS400 that my gf was driving around for a while. (she likes it better than her Ion.) I kept my GS and bought a GX. Going right from my GS as my primary driver to my GX was really easy. Something feels similar with the two vehicles in addition to most of the controls being similar. If you love lexus like most on this forum I think the GX is an awesome choice when in the market for an SUV. I hate nothing about it.

Sweet...I have a couple "ins" at two Chicago Lexus Dealerships. So we are going to get the best deal...I just read up on the drive shaft problem. Good to know about that.

Well hopefully in the next week I'll be posting pics of it.

Its going right to our Chicago CL tint guy of choice and get 20% slapped on all around. Already called him to get a price...I'm excited.
