I'm really curious to hear about any rubbing issues you encounter w/the different offset the FJ wheels have (IIRC they're 15mm instead of the stock 25mm). This, coupled w/the bigger tires, could make things interesting...

It should just give me a wider stance and a more agressive look. The tire will be 10mm more toward the outside of the wheel well which should bring the tire flush with the wheel well.
As far as it being a problem, I don't think it is. I am running 305 40 22's on a 15mm offset wheel right now. If that does not rub then this should not either.
Really only one way to find out...and I will post pics when I get these on for a test fit.
have any of these alternate tire sizes impacted the speedometer accuracy etc?
Yes. Any time you change the rolling diameter of a tire you are going to affect the spedo. When I bought the 22" wheels I could have kept the same diameter tire (same revolutions per mile) but I would have had to put a 35 series tire on, and I like a little more side wall on this car. I also like how it better fills the wheel well. I knew that my spedo would be off, but I don't spend all day looking at it anyhow.
Here in Orange County we have many digital speed limit signs that have built-in rader that shows your current speed. At 45 MPH I am only off by about 1-2 MPH. At highway speeds I am sure it's closer to 5 MPH...but who cares?
