The LATCH on my 2005 are the same--offset. Basically, to use LATCH with 2 childseats, you have one seat on one side and the other sorta in the middle. One of those .

At least the extra 2 yrs I bought to extend the CPO to 5 yrs didn't cost much.
Mine didn't go as far to say that the CPO was more inclusive than the factory but he sure made a big point of touting all of the benefits of the CPO and the fact that it is just the same factory warranty extended out.

Do you mind me asking how much the extension of the CPO cost? And if so, I'm assuming that it only extends the years from 3 to 5 but does not extend the 100k total miles cap? That's okay for me as I'm much more worried about the years rather than the miles. Also, do you know if there is a restriction as to how long you can wait to buy this extension? My dealer never even offered this as an option. Thanks.

A newer model will hold more value.

Not sure about CPO taking precendent over 4/50K.
Common sense says no, but my common sense indicator has led me astray before, but she's lives in a different state, it's a long story and I've already paid the lawyer.

I am excited about the GX, but as you know, that's not always a good thing. With that said, I've put a few feelers out and we'll see as the months end grows near.
I prefer 4/50K, so with the forums help, I've placed more guidelines on myself, I tend to get trigger happy adn make mistakes, see common sense comment above.
The only thing that may be worth considering when not buying a CPO is that if the Lexus Platinum warranty covers the same things as the CPO (and again, you are paying a premium for the CPO anyway in the price of the vehicle) and does not cost you that much more as opposed to buying a CPO, it may be better to buy a non-CPO, get the Platinum warranty, and that way you have the same coverage, but if you sell/trade the car (or heavens forbid, total it), you can still cancel the warranty and get a pro rated refund of the cost. With CPO, you get no refund.

I thought the CPO basically is the platinum warranty? The platinum is what you can buy (when buying the car new) to extend it to 100K, right?

For the CPO, you can extend it to 5 yr/100K or 7 yr/100K. You should estimate how many miles you drive per year and how long it'll take to reach that mileage. I estimated 10K miles/year max, so 5 yrs since the vehicle had 50K miles already. The list on the 2 yr extension to 5 yr/100K is $1.8K (what my salesman told me). I bought it at the time I bought the car, and used that to bargain down the cumulative package price (car + extended warranty) since they wouldn't budge anymore on the price of the car. BTW, I got the extra 2 yrs for only $300, so I think that's pretty much rock bottom. Hint: if you buy before closing of the last weekend/business day of the month, you can get a better deal, as each dealer has targets/quotas to meet, and bonuses are based on the month's sales, so everyone is more motivated to deal. The manager told me if it were mid-month, there's no way they would have sold the extended warranty for that price.

That was my question. I've never tried to do a comparison b/w the Platinum and the CPO coverage. If they are in fact the same, then I do believe it may not be a bad idea to get the Platinum if the dealer is willing to sell the car as a non-CPO for about the same price as the platinum. Then get it and you have something that is refundable for a certain period of time.

I'm guessing that since I've already purchased my vehicle that there's probably no way to try to get a steal on the extension of the CPO is there?

I would try emailing some dealer fleet managers and ask what they charge.
