The ride is smooth, particularly for a real SUV. I found it much better than the LX I tried, but that might be unusual. The GX lets you adjust the ride for comfort.

I'd suggest you try one out on some typical roads and see how you like it. Check the Comfort setting before you drive because that will give you a different experience.

I just purchased a 2003 GX470 with 26,000 miles. I will be the 2nd owner. I came from driving Mercedes ML's since 1998, so this is a pleasure. No problems so far, I just need to learn the repair ropes. I have no idea how to "tear apart" a Lexus. Hopefully I won't need to. It holds our family well, drives awesome, and the price and mileage were perfect.
