seems to me.. that 4runner has a wider trunk... Don't know if its just me.. .but i don't like the back end of our gx... i feel it doesn go with the rest of it.. but i like the back of 4 runner... specially the chrome plate i see on black ones... looks nice.
mechanically both cars r pretty identical... with four runner price diff... i still think its a smart buy. but i would not buy both.

 

The 4runner is only 1 inch wider than the GX, but the GX is 3.5 inches higher. Due to the height, the GX just seems like it is much narrower. I also like dont like the way the GX look from the back, but it looks good from the side and front. I guess 2 out of 3 is not bad.

 

higher in what sense? Total height? The ground clearance of the 4Runner is about 9" while the GX is only like 7.4"

Yeh GX is definately taller in terms of total height... but 4 runner is definately wider... from side n front GX looks alot better then the 4 runner.. but back goes in favour of four runner.... Clearance on 4 runner is more for sure... but that would only matter if someone is into offroading... even though GX is as equipped as 4 runner offroad.... i would still be more comfortable offroading in 4 runner then GX...
