Default Speedometer Indicator Problem

Hi All,

I am having problem with my 2004 GX470's speedometer indicator light. At night, when I turn on the head light, the indicator bar does not light up at times. I can see the speedometer/odometer etc. fine. It is the indicator that won't iluminate. It happens from time to tome.

Anyone ran into this before?

Thanks.

Default Probably a defect in the instrument cluster- sounds like (m)

an intermittent contact. Since your vehicle is likely under warranty, its best to go the dealer. If its not, check the TIS for $10 per day.

While unusual, it sounds to me that you have a LED light out. I would leave replacement up to the dealer as I have had all kinds of problems messing with dash LED lights.

Default TIS= Toyota Information Service website (m)

Its a website for Toyota/Lexus/Scion owners with access to detailed repair, diagnostic and vehicle info. Costs $10 per day, but I think there other subscriptions as well. See here:
http://techinfo.toyota.com/

Its very useful- Figured out how to pop out the map light assy to wire a V1 in no time at all.
