Clunk Fix with new TSB
Can someone PLEASE post a link to the actual TSB? I just purchased a 2007 and would like to read up on it and potentially educate my dealer. I definitely notice the clunk on my vehicle. Help.
I just got a 2006 CPO and heard the mild clunk. Brought it back the next day and they replaced the drive shafts. Funny that the CPO and 30K was done on it and yet they missed the clunk.
Are there any other concerns with the GX that I should know about?

This is not a mandatory recall. Lexus will only replace it under the TSIB if a customer complains about it and in some cases if the dealer can duplicate it. It does not bother everyone and it does not impact performance or harm the vehicle. It clearly did not bother the previous owner that much or they would have fixed it. Just means you get stuck holding the bag.

Not to derail but there are a couple of TSIB's out there, one for the differential "drone" at highway speeds. Do a search there is plenty of good info on this forum.
The 08 models are not immune to this clunk issue. I feel a slight jerk underneath the vehicle 2 to 3 seconds after stopping, no clunk sound, it feels like being rear ended. I complained about it last week when I had the car serviced for its first oil change at 5K miles, and was told that they will order the updated drive line.
The car is presently at the dealership, is there anything else that they would replace other than the drive shaft? I read some posts that it is ONLY the drive shaft while there are other CL members who had the drive shaft AND rear control arms replaced.

Thank you both for your input. Got the car back and they only replaced the driveshaft assembly. I inquired about the rear control arms, and according to the Service Advisor, the driveshaft is the only part needed to fix the issue. And she's right because the car has no more "jerks"!
