Thanks GMan, but just for the record, I never thought I had to change the kit, I knew from the first day I could change bulbs at any time...

My original quote/lament, was that IF I waited for a year, I would save about $150 with the current pricing from Steve, AND, I would have a 2nd relay too!!

Still love my kit, thank for everything Steve, you know I'm going to come knocking on your door soon to pick up the 4300k bulbs...

Doess the Xenondepot kit use igniters that are integrated into the ballast? I'm debating between the MTEC kit and XenonDepot ... any recommendations?

Hello,

The newer Xenondepot kit uses the Slim Philips XLD 145 ballasts that have SEPARATE igniters outiside of the ballast. In my opinion this is a good thing because the ballast is very slim AND the ingiter provides you extra wire length neccessary to place the ballast further from the bulb (whihc in the case of GX470 is a very big plus). Though, you might argue that the older LVQ 212 ballasts with integrated ingiter is easier to deal with since its only ONE piece (http://xenondepot.com/product.php?product_id=30), but its is QUOTE THICK and makes it more difficult to place in the vehicle. Both ballasts are EXCELLENT, though I just like the SLIM little XLD, its sexier and makes less noise while working... (I have both ballasts in my vehicle running LOW beam and FOG HID BULBS).

I highly recommend staying AWAY from pretty much ANY non-philips HID ballasts (perhaps except matsu****a) as they break easily (I have had personal BAD experience). As far as harness goes XDs latest harness reincarnation is decent though there are several version one using COMPLETELY separate relays wired completeley separetely and with nice flexible silicone cables and the other using AGAIN Separate Relays but the HOT and Ground wires of the relays are Crimped together to one pole (ie 2 hookups total and not 4) which is easier to manage, yet the cable has a RIBBED insulator that is harder to run through the car (the silicon dual filament cable are much nicer IMO).

thanks
