how many times have i said that i dont hav the 3rd seat! i didnt wait 7 months 4 it. got it in a month. only reason i got this was that i didnt want to wait any longer to get a Gx so i would be one of the first in town to be rollin around in the new Gx. also i didnt want the trade-in value of my Rx300 to go down if i dont get a Gx b4 the Rx330 came out. oh did i ever mention that my previous Rx had cloth seats? lol dealer even told me they found a customer who was lookin 4 a used cloth Rx. lol

I got the third row seats because that was available, even though I didn't want them. I figured I'd take them out, and actually removed and bagged one of them.

Then I made my mistake. I have a Girl Scout troop with 6 high school girls, all about 15 years old. We were holding the meeting at somebody else's house for a change, and I told the other Moms, don't worry about it - I'll pick them up all up this ONCE in my new GX. I put the seat back in and the whole troop had a great time arguing over seats, playing with stuff and squeezing into the SUV.

So now every meeting I am going to the school myself, chasing around after the girls, and finally getting everybody in and driving to my house to run the meeting. Since I am the only one, I can't even have another parent wait for the last girl or two. I keep saying I am going to take the seats out, but nobody believes me.

Seven people piling out of the car in the driveway, and removing all those humungous backpacks and sports equipement (the few square feet of storage space doesn't hold all of them) must be kind of humourous to watch. This will NOT work with the camping equipment - we will have to work something else out when we go in a couple of months.

[QUOTE=rtanouye]BobsGX,
7 month wait was difficult. Several times I was ready to break down and buy the Range Rover Sport, but the service history of RRs kept me in line. I don't know what Sirius kit that the dealer installed. I will try to check the box to see if there is a model number.

No doubt a smart move not to give in and get the RR. I keep reading how even the 06 RR's spend lots of time on flatbed tows going back to the dealership. That's a shame.
The part number should be on the box that the Sirius kit came in. Thanks for looking.

...

Since I placed the order in June 2005, I was given the opportunity to order a 2005 or 2006. They said that they were doubtful for the 2005 order because the factory may be retooling for 2006. So, I elected for the 2006. Hoped that 2006 would have upgrades such as keyless entry and ignition, but found out there were no upgrades except for Lexus Link. I had to wait for the initial rollout orders for 2006 before I could get my order processed. Thus the "late" delivery.

Don't forget the new for 06 leather covered parking brake handle. A nice touch.
The 03-05's just had a plastic covered handle. No big deal, but being a LUV, it should have had the leather covered handle since 03.
