Default New iPod Mini

Hey Guys,

I was wandering how people are connecting thier ipods to the GX. I have an O4 with Nav. I have seen different products, but wanted to get some feed back from someone that is using them with the GX. Any help would be great.

Well, I do not have it yet, but VaisTech is a great choice. It is a household name here and I personally would get it if they just had Sirius available. But if that doesn't matter, I would go for it. It even, I think, allows text (song name, artist, etc) to be displayed.

yaro1,

Thanks for the link. I was wondering if anyone is using something else. I have seen several of the FM modulators. This may work for me because I could move it between cars. Any input is welcomed.

I use both the Griffin FM Transmitter (okay) and a cassette adapter (better). I found the easiest way is to get a Belkin TuneDok for the iPod http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProdu...duct_Id=178179

Just put it in the cup holder, pop in the tape adapter and you are off. You can see the iPod fairly well going down the road. The sound isn't the best coming through the adapter, but for about $10-12, and no install, you can't beat the price.

The Griffing FM transmitter will work, but I find that electrical wires can mess up the reception, so I stopped using it.

Donger,

Thanks for the input. I guess the tape deck comes in handy after all. I think I will try this first, then make the move up the price scale.

The Vais Technology unit is the way to go if you want full integration. It is the only unit that will display the ID3 info on the Nav head unit. The installation isn't that hard if you are handy at all. Here is a web page describing the steps required to do the installation. http://www.emba42.com/lexus/

If you want to go on the cheap, don't bother with the FM transmitter units unless you live out in the country. You'll end up with FM bleed thru. The cassette adaptor may not be as high quality as a direct integration such as the Vais Tech unit, but it is better than the FM transmitter units.

darylhuff,

Thanks for the info. I will try the tape deck option first. If I do not like it, I will spend the big money to intergrated it.
