Default TSB or Lexus Service Report

I called my dealer today to set up an appointment to get my GX serviced. I asked them to fix the outside temp display and the front seat creaking. I tell him about the TSB numbers that is available for both. He tells me this isn't a Lexus provided report and he don't know anything about the bulletins. Told him I had the published report for the seat, but no information on the display repairs. Ended up calling Lexus Support to see if they could help. Does anyone have the actual TSB report for the outside temp display fix? I don't think should have to give them this info, but expect if I don't, nothing will get done.

You should not ever have to provide a service department with a bulliten number (imo).

Its their job to fix the car's problem, via your complaint. Saying that your outside temperature display does not read accuately should be enough. Any good service technician A. Reads up on recent bullitens weekly, and B. Knows enough to check for bullitens with a complaint they are not used to seeing (maybe none of the techs where you are have seen this complaint before!)

But anyhow, the bulliten # is EL015-03 "Outside Temperature Display Innacurate"
Requires replacing P/N 83240-60271, which happens to be on backorder across the country.

Hope it helps!

Mine is usually off about 5 degrees and take forever to adjust to different tempertures. I figured the parts would be back-ordered early in the fix, but thought given this fix has been out a will, may no back-order. Guess I've lived with it this long, another month won't matter much.

Thumbs up Temp Display replaced

I had this outside temperature display replaced entirely, since mine was 30-40 degrees off. it could easily adjust to the dropping temp, but never to the climbing. I had it done back in Sep 2003. My part was installed by a Lexus tech from California HQ, even though I am in Chicago. I was told that the part was in the piloting stage and not completely approved. However, since I had a pending law suit against Lexus based on Lexus' unwillingness to rectify the problem. Now, it is all bihind me and the temp display works very accurately.
