2009 gx470 with stock wheels. They are hyper silver ones. Has anybody touch paint them? What paint brand and color to use? It is darker than normal silver.

I would try to match it to a base on the dupli-color display for the first layer then mix their clear with that to blend a top coat.

To fix it right metallics have to be sprayed in a way to get the flakes to settle uniformly. I’ve failed to get it perfect every single time. You might need to do at least two wheels to make it match. Then you’re limited with rotations. Whatever level of good enough you’re ok with.

Just so you know, I’m slightly color blind so my advice is suspect.

 

Had mine stripped and powder coated for $200 a piece. They look 100% brand new and I got to pick a slightly different color of silver, more like the 4Runner snowflake wheel silver which I like better

 

Is that duplicolor hyper-silver wheel paint? Thanks.
