The larger circumference will change the gearing (slower acceleration, speedometer error), and increased weight (rotational weight is far more noticeable than static weight), but should not contribute to locking up when braking.

I've been running C-load rating 265/70/17's on my GX470 for years, this is the 2nd set, no ill effects to note.

Sounds good, I will get the correct load rating next time I'm due for tires in spring. Thanks again for your help!
