Rear air bags are leaking. Local indy recommended replacing the shocks as well. What is the best recommended non OEM shock? (OEM are VERY expensive)

Can I keep the adjustable suspension if I go non OEM?

TIA, I'm sure this has been asked before.

If you're making the swap to steel springs (in conjunction with adding a lift), then people seem to like Bilstein.

If you're keeping the air springs, no need to replace the rear shocks unless they're bad. I'm at 201k and still on the originals.
Note that OEM shocks with the adjustable valving are crazy expensive - MSRP is about $975 each. But you can find them for less than $700 at sites like mylparts

Local shop said to replace. I just ordered LuftMeister. I can live with $300. $1,500 is a bit hard to take, especially when doing other relatively expensive repairs.

OEM shocks are firmness adjustable…on your center console? You can replace with standard shocks and loose that option. You can also replace air springs with standard springs…but loose the height adjustment…

I put the luftmeister on,,,,failed (leaking) after 6 months. The ride was fair at best. Just put Dobinson springs and shocks on and the ride is excellent now.

What evidence did they present to say your current ones are bad? Sounds like a shop that doesn't know Lexus.
