Check hub assembly. I am surprised no one mentioned this. Please jack the front of the GX up. Get those wheels in the air and check them by grabbing them at the 3 and 9 o'clock position, Also grab and shake them by grabbing them at the 6 and 12 o'clock position. if you notice any kind of movement then you need to have those hub assemblies replaced. update us when you can. Thanks.

Well, I finally have a resolution to my vibration/shimmying problems resolved. It's been a while since I posted but I wanted to give you all an update. I was in O'Reilly's Auto Parts store and I mentioned my front end vibrating when I applied the brakes. One of the store workers suggested that it sounded like my Stabilizer Rods were bad.

So I purchased both front-end ones and replaced the next day. I test drove and was estatic that the problem was resolved. Yeah!! There is a YouTube video available for replacing these, but, it is fairly simple. The old ones were definitely worn out. After 200K miles, I'm not surprised.

Glad you got it fixed!

I would not have expected swaybar end links to affect anything under braking, but glad to hear you got it figured out!

sometimes it's caused by worn control arms. at least for my LS460.
