GX470 Driver Side HVAC
HELP! I'm frustrated to the breaking point. In the summer, my local shop did troubleshooting and found that my AC evaporator was leaking, requiring a replacement for the AC to hold a charge. This means that dash had to be removed. I bought a brand new dash for the job, since the old was cracked and in rough shape. The work got done, it looked beautiful and the AC was ice cold. As the mornings became cooler, or when I needed the defroster, I noticed that the driver side had a stream of cold air coming from it. I returned the truck to the shop, and they replaced the passenger blend door actuator. No change. I took it back a 2nd time, and they pulled the dash and traced everything, and said they fixed it. NO CHANGE. a THRID TIME the truck went back, and the owner of the shop did the job himself (there were additional issues from the initial work that were fixed) and still, a stream of cold air when the rest of the heat is on.
It's now 30 degrees in the mornings, and the only way to reduce the cold air, is heat on full blast with the recirc button pressed. That reduces the cold breeze, until about 40 min into my trip, the warm air has recirculated enough to overcome the cold. I don't know what to do. Is there something else that needs to be replaced? Do i have to pull the dash again?
In defense of the shop that did the work... they only charged for the initial job. the other 3 dash rips and reinstalls was on them. So they are trying, and haven't charged me anything additional, so I feel they are being honest.
