Find lost key using chip?
Has anyone figured out a way to find a lost key using the security chip? I've lost the keys to my '05 GX at my home, and there are only a handful of places they could be. But after hours of searching, I'm still coming up with nothing.
I took the fob out of my spare key and tried to start the GX with just the key. It wouldn't start, so that tells me the lost key isn't in the GX, or at least not near the ignition.
I don't know enough about how the security works to know if there's a way to signal the lost key fob to transmit, so that I could locate it. I actually have a signal strength detector that detects somewhere in the range of 300-500mhz, but I don't know if it's possible to make the security chip transmit.
Thanks in advance for any ideas!
