My HID bulb went out on my GS. I think this is the best time to change the light color, but is it really a big difference between 5000k HID bulbs and 6000k bulbs? I'm not a fan of the blue lights, prefer the ultra white.
I prefer 5k. I can tell the difference between the to colors. 6k has a hint of blue where as 5k is more like stock 4300k but without the yellow. and whiter. Hope this helps

5k for life! I've always had 8k then with my first Lexus moved to 6k... I have had 5k in for a few weeks and will never go back to 6k. Brighter light and still very noticeable over the stock color.
5k should be the brightest for visibility, although I have been experienced with past hid installs with 8k on my old tundra and 10k on my EK civic hatch. Planning to purchase 8k garax some where down the line for my GS.
I could only describe 5k as plain white, and looks pretty similar to stock 4300k but the light output nearly the same. 6K is white with a slight blue hue. You can certainly distinguish 6000K on the freeway, and it stands out nicely but at the cost of brightness. If you get matching 6k foglights, the total brightness will be okay. I went from 6k to 5k and then immediately back to 6k. I am selling my 5k hid foglight bulbs if you're interested in hid fogs because I think you would like 5k better.
