My friend just sold his 06 GS300 and got 07 GS450h yesterday,
last night we went test drive the car and noticed the (spot/map) interior lights come on when you opend the door, not just the three small dot led but the very next one too.
That makes huge difference, I can see very well get in and get out the car at night,
compare my car (06 GS430 and the old he sold) only the three small led will light up when opend the door.
Anyone who knows if there a setting to do the same thing for 06 GS?

This is how it looks for 06 GS when opend the driver side front door, only small led will light up.

Thsi is how my friend's 07 GS450h when opend the driver side front door, not only small led will light up also the one (spot) next to them, for 06 I have to press "spot" to make it light up.

Very interesting. Maybe a Lexus dealer can program that.

 

Mine are the little leds and the big one i have a 2007 gs350

 

it's an 07 and up thing. My GS does the same thing (06). I felt the same way as you when i borrowed my uncle's 450h (07)

i think you just hit that button that says door. I was confused about why my big light was not coming on when i opened the door on my 08, turns out my son had been pushing buttons and turned it for "door" to "off" which only let the 3 small ones come on.
