I just replaced my headlights on 06 GS 430. I now hear a loud buzzing sound coming from the lights. I know this happens after you turn car off, but this buzzing sound was not happening with my old bulbs.

Any ideas on why this happening and will it eventually stop?

Are you positive that there was no buzzing prior to install of new bulbs? I recently replaced the HID bulbs on my 06 3GS and heard the buzzing prior to replacement and after with new bulbs. I am sure they buzz all the time, at least when the ballasts are energized. When you turn car off bulbs are still on and buzzing. Once you click the button to lock doors and lights go off the buzzing stops. I would say that it is normal.

 

Thanks Lex G, I didn't think the old lights were buzzing as much as the new ones, but will see what happens over next few days.

When I have the car on acc and no lights on my car has a humming sound this is weird lol

 

what type of bulbs are they? whats the wattage?

first thing that comes to mind is that they may be a cheaper style bulb or too high of wattage or both.

 

The HID's on all of my car make a high-pitched whine when they're ignited.
