Default 07 GS 350 water pump replacement

Hello all!

My wife's GS350's water pump has given up the ghost. I have a replacement pump w/gasket and want to install this weekend.

Are there any pitfalls to this or is it straightforward? I have a lot of experience working on cars but hadn't had to mess with the Lexus until now.

What major components need to be removed to get to the pump? Radiator, fans, ???

Thanks for the help,

Tim

Here you go. Straight from TIS. Good luck. Post some pictures and create a DIY. All members would greatly appreciate it!

I did the job today. It took me about 2 hours. Pretty straightforward. '

I tried to take some pics but forgot to put the CF card in the camera

I marked up the repair document. It is not necessary to do some of the items in the manual.

Unfortunately, while taking off the hose from the radiator I broke the plastic connection to the radiator. I can't believe these cars have plastic radiators! That is real crap.

Trying to fix it, if not will need to throw in a new rad.

Tim

Tell you the truth, this is an easier job than replacing the Alternator

I believe all modern cars have plastic ends on their radiators you will need to go aftermarket if you want all steel

Dealer installed water pump, thermostat, belt tensioner pulley and belt cost approx. $870. Extended warranty took care of everything but the belt. Car had 72k miles at the time.
