Smile GS430 Intake option

So a few know I tired the SRT from the 2gen GS400/430. Bolts up perfect but with out a custom tune I was running lean in Bank 1 & 2...I sold this to a local member and kind of gave up as I really want to boost the car after riding in a locals GS400 with the SRT set up. It was amazing

So I am still working on the S/C and what to do. I purchased the 2gen GS/LS/SC 430 Injen Intake. Pleased to say it works and bolts up with no issues. There is a tab that you would need to trim for it to sit properly due to the variance under our hood. Its just a mounting tab that wont affect anything.

Its not super loud but on WOT and at higher RPM's you can hear a nice growl from under the hood.

Driving the car and things that are different:
Car is holding onto gear longer then it did. Feels more like I am in a manual car or I have it in the sport mode and dont. I can spin the tires on a take off now with trac on where I wasn't able to before. Trac of course kicks on and stops everything. No dyno and I don't plan to since I had no success with the dyno and this car in the past. So far seems like a good option for those that want a little more sound then what the FSport pipe will offer. Not sure but I think this may also work on the GS460 assuming the intake is similar if not the same.

Hope this helps others out

I can get pics tomorrow but no sound clips...still having troubles with my home network. I got that one to upload of the exhaust and couldnt get the rest. I have been to busy to mess with it.

No CEL or codes... I have taken it all over today to see how it does and like the sound. The interesting thing is that its holding onto gear more and not sure if its just the intake or combo of the exhaust and intake? The response if different for sure compared to the stock intake box. I did like the sound of the SRT much better but that takes a lot of work to allow it to work on the 3gen but the gains are better. I am sure the gains are minimal if any with this intake and you can even lose a little with some of these.

I will post some pics tomorrow after I clean the car up.

Its a short ram. I dont believe there are any CIA for the 2gen GS. On our car you would be doing some cutting to allow for a CIA.

I will get pics today for everyone

here is the part that could use a little trim. it will bolt up but is a little longer then it needs to due to the difference in the front of the 2gen GS and how ours slopes more. Easy fix if you wanted. Hood closes as is and doesnt harm anything. I left it as is for now.

it will fit but as I have it sitting up it doesnt. I wanted to make sure the intake worked before I made any mods to it so I could sell it. I am going to stop at a locals and see if he can trim it for me later today so I can put the cover back on. Our engine cover shape is the same as the 2gen and I wouldnt be surprised if its the same part #.

I think if we cut that tab in half where the opening is it will be perfect. Its rather long to begin with and bolts to the same point on the 2gen. Glad it has that extra long opening for that purpose.

3 days and ticking and no issues

You should make a heat shield for it.

Hey Mike can you try to use the pipe to hook up to the factory airbox? I want to utilize the factory airbox with the pipe from the 2GS. Maybe a rubber hose clamp to connect the pipe to the airbox? Thanks!
