Default Whats The Cheapest Route To Fixing A Door Actuator?

As you guys may know our cars actuators aren't exactly the best... mine went out and now i need to replace it, so whats the cheapest route to fix them? Not trying to drop 200 buck on an actuator from ebay. I heard we can use Toyota actuators?
Thanks for all the help CL!

Listen the best way maybe is to check the junk yard . They have junk yards that have our parts. Also seriously try the flee market you be surprise. also Craig-list Lexus GS 300 parts vehicle. Remember the sister vehicle to the Lexus GS 300 is the Toyota Camry. So you can see what parts you can interchange.

Don't buy a used actuator from a junkyard, it will probably be non working as well lol. Best cheapest route is to rebuild it yourself as everyone says. Just takes a little bit of DIY skill and $5-10 and you're good to go.

buy the little motors online and switch them out. that would be your cheapest route. once you do one door, the rest are pretty easy.

Smile Door actuator

I bought the little motor that goes in the actuator on eBay and rebuilt them myself; had 3 bad doors. Got 4 motors for about $15. But, getting the motors into the actuator can be a PITA. First, you have to crack open the case on the old actuator. Not too difficult but you have to be careful you don't break it and you may need a tool like a Dremel. Then you have to pull a fitting off the motor spindle that the worm gear fits on and put it on the new motor. A small gear puller works, another $15 or so on eBay. If you like tinkering, this is the way to go. You can buy the whole actuators on eBay for $80 - $90. Not THE cheapest but a whole lot quicker. Simply pull the old actuator out, about 10 - 15 minutes, another 3 minutes to swap out the actuators and another 10 - 15 minutes to button the door back up. Easy Peasy!

Just did all 4 doors on my wifes GS300. Her front passenger door was not working, so I bought these off ebay:

Along with this from ebay a must have for this DIY:

I watched this DIY youtube video here:

part 1

part 2

I was able to fix all of the doors actuators for $40, Took me a whole day to get all of them complete.

Used these links as well.
