Default Idle Air Control Valve

My Idle Air Control Valve went out on my 98 Lexus Gs300 and the toyota delaership is trying to charge me 1600.00 for the cost 1400.00 for the part and 200.00 for the labor ?
I found the IACV online for 350.00 and ordered but I have not took it to them yet to put on the car.
They told me you have to replace the whole throttle body to replace the IACV not just the IACV itself which does not sound right ?

Help!!!!

That's the only way the dealership can get it. They told me I had to get a throttle position sensor seperate but I found it as a Toyota part seperate thru someone else Crazy, but that's how they get it. Even d-bags on ebay think the TPS is seperate....lol, Always wanting $500 for a use done...and $150-200 for a used TPS when I got mine new for $110. lol If you got a seperate IACV put it on and go with it.

Are you sure you have a 2nd gen GS? All of the 2GS have electronic throttle bodies, they do not have IAC valves. The electronic throttle modulates constantly to regulate idle speed. If it's going out on you, then most likely the entire throttle body has to be changed. If you need a spare, I have one on hand that I'll sell for $250. PM me if you need it.

That's not the IACV. It's the electronic throttle control motor. As I said, these cars do not have a IACV.

julianhue, I'll give you a call back later today. Thanks.

Default throttle body

did you have to replace the whole throttle body as they are suggesting because this part is built in the throttle body
