Default Anyone know what module this is...

So I've had this noise coming from my dash for the past 2 days. I don't know if it has to do with my radio/nav but I snooped around a bit. It seems like the noise is coming from this module. Can anyone identify it and what does it controls?

Took the bottom of the dash panel off. Just showing so you have more of an idea of where this module is located.

Here it is hiding behind the vent outlined in red.

It looks like one of the A/C servos. Check this thread:

Thanks for the input fellas. That link looks like that's exactly what it is. Seems pretty pricey for that part but what else would you expect being a Lexus part. I haven't been using the car's heat or ac so I couldn't tell you if it was the wrong temp at all. Doesn't seem that hard to change but working under the dash upside down is a B.

i think i might attach this to my DIY someone showed you earlier so people know the placement of the drivers side one

thanks

So I finally replaced the Driver's side servo - but BEWARE and save yourself hours of frustration. I took my old part to the dealer and got a replacement - exact same printed number on the part.

Looks JUST like the photos above.

But it is WRONG!

That part number now belongs to a different version (right handed verses left handed) so if you get the one pictured above it wont work.

Tried for hours to install it (it's a bear getting that top screw!) but couldn't get it. Finally looked online and found that there are Right and Left hand versions (the arm is 180 degrees different).

And the the old part number now goes for the new (wrong) hand version.

What you want is part number 87106-30351.

If you get the part that has the identical number of your old broken one it'll be wrong!

Replying to this thread to re-host the photos dRo15 originally posted. A lot of Firefox and Chrome desktop extensions for fixing Photobucket images are broken now and I don't think there's any recourse for mobile users. Hopefully this helps anyone seeing this thread from this point forward.

Thanks for the clear photos! I just pulled out the driver-side actuator, opened it up as per related post, cleaned up the potentiometer and wiper finger contact surfaces, closed it back up, reinstalled (not much fun being tight and upside-down), but low and behold: the noise is gone, and it works perfectly! I once again have both hot and cold to the driver. The potentiometer surface looked like it was wearing out, so not sure how long it'll last. But at least I have time to find cheapest replacement. Thanks again!

I have a lot of free time due to the quarantine, so I attempted to tackle this again. Took me about two hours but I finally got the old part out. Finding the hidden screw was the worst part. I installed the new servo motor minus the hidden screw. I didn’t want to bother with opening and cleaning the motors. They’re fairly inexpensive now. No more gerbil sounds.
