In this thread you'll find pictures of many 2GS with tint merged from over a dozen 'what tint should I get' threads. You may see some out of context comments as a result that you can ignore .

I'd like to have a single point of reference for all the tint questions that will come. If you've had your 2GS tinted, please upload pictures to the Club Lexus gallery and link them in this thread (Click here to get to the gallery upload and Method B in this link will tell you how to add pictures if you don't know how).

Please list:
- % tint
- color of your interior (does make a big difference in how dark tint appears)
- type of tint if you know it (smoke, dyed, metalized, etc)
- brand of tint if you know it (3M, Solarguard, Lumaster, etc)

From time to time I will prune this thread of comments and questions, leaving only the posts with pictures. It will be linked from the main 2GS FAQ and not stickied.

Laws for tint in your state:

Ok Diesel here are some pics of my car with the Quantum tint I spoke of.. When you look at it dead on like a cop would it isn't too dark but from angles as I hope you will see from the pics it looks progressively darker.. Hope these help in your decision and I hope you don't do the full mirror tint.. Gotta say it again.. Way too tacky for a GS..

i'm thinkin to put tint on my lexus gs400 '98

my car is black inside and black outside

on my previose car (had same colors black/black) i had real dark black tint, car looked awesome

now i'm thinkin to put that refelection tint, i know it'd look awesome on metalic (grey) cars but would it look good/better on my black?

 

If I were you I would go with all black tint, I think it looks better, especially on a blk. Lexus. If you had a silver car, maybe the reflective type. Another kind of tint to take into consideration is that greenish color tint.

I can't tell u where 2 get them, because I don't even know, but a friend of mine who's a member on here told me about them, their about $200+.
But do u know what the back RX300 windows look like, they look exactly like those.

 

Go for 20% tint on your windows with the black interior. Anything lower like 5% (limo tint), you are asking for the cops to pull you over. 20% is dark enough IMO and I haven't had any run in with the cops but it's dark enough that one has to put their face to the window to see into the car when it's parked.

 

I agree with GS430 GUY.I have 30% in front which is as dark as you can go legally in mass and 20 % on the rest on a silver car and it is dark enough for me.My previous car was an I30t black/Black and I had 30% all the way around and it appeared to be a shade darker cuz of the color.

and 20% on the front

i always wanted to get 5% everywhere =)
