Default Ever wanted to do a retrofit yourself? Here's how!

Mods, I have this here rather than in the general lighting forum because it's specifically for the GS.

This retrofit is from last year. It's one of my very first sets so the quality of work isn't quite up to my standards/skills now . It's just for you guys to have a basic idea of whats involved in the retrofit process. I would say the actual working time is about 10-15 hours or so. I finally had some spare time to compile everything and post it up on my DIY page. I was supposed to do this last year, but hey better late than never

I also need to post up a DIY for my LX470 retrofit with TSX projectors and also my most recent project of quad projectors for my car using TL projectors. Hopefully it doesn't take me a year to get those posted up

Anyways, heres the link to my DIY page. http://www.projectgs.com/diy/
Just click on "How to Retrofit HID Projectors Into Your Headlights".

Only applicable on the older 98-2000 tails, not the 2001 up tails.

The construction is completely different on the newer lenses, there is no amber piece to pull out..

Clearing 2001 up tails is not feasible by atleast the normal DIY'er. I have examined this extensively and there is no easy way for someone to do it at home utilizing common fabrication tools. Your alternative is to buy the JP tails or the Carson, EBay tails.

You are addressing the compliment to Jeff I assume.

dude..we have the same charger to test out the ballast/bulbs before I had that, I use to run back and forth to my car so I can see what they look like when lit up. lol.

I gotta agree with you though. First time retrofit stinks, and you only get better at it. My TSX retro was okay, but meh..not something I was happy with..Then came the LS430 projectors and the rest was history
