Lexus LF-Gh Hybrid Concept To Make World Debut at 2011 New York International Auto Show

Lexus announced that the LF-Gh hybrid concept will make its world debut at the 2011 New York International Auto Show.

The LF-Gh, which stands for Lexus Future Grand Touring Hybrid, sets out to redefine the premium grand touring sedan. Through this exercise, the definition of L-Finesse, the marque’s design philosophy since 2001, has been refined and evolved to include a bolder, more distinct projection of what a luxury car could become in a modern world. The result is the LF-Gh concept, which conveys original thoughts and ideas that may migrate to future Lexus vehicles on a global scale.

The new concept will be on display in the Lexus exhibit at the New York International Auto Show from April 20 – May 1, 2011.

I don't see how those styling cues would work with the masses. Possibly the rear (reminds me of a Hyundai) but not the front. It may work on the $300K LF-A but not a $50K near luxury Lexus. Also, am I the only one who sees some Cadillac "arts and science" influence??

But what do I know.

the GS is not "Near Luxury" Sedan, thats the ES. GS is "Performance Luxury" Sedan. The styling does look too wild for my taste, but I'm sure these photo are the early concept pix imo.

As they say here:

"Here's hoping for some cohesion, too, as the rear here has a whole lot of LFA while the front is chock-full-o-Audi but with Alfa Brera headlights."

 

GS needs to be the aggressive bad boy Lexus sedan. Sad to see the quads go but like the LED lights and aggressive look so far. Hope it doesn't follow Audi/EVO to much.

 

i also mentioned this in car chat, i wonder how much of this will make it to the 4gs production unit. that would be cool

that's some bizarre concept which gives me absolutely no idea how the production version will look.

from that teaser, it also seems they might adopt audi's full sized grille. i hope not.

I don't know. I have a feeling that Lexus is about to have it's Bangle era.
