Default Window Tint Question

Hi All,

I am getting my windows tinted at a place in Vienna, Virginia this week. I know VA is kind of strict and does not allow darker than 50% in front, and 35% for the back windows / rear.
I think I would prefer to get uniform tint on all of the windows, so I would go with 50% all around. I have never gotten my windows done before, do you think this will be dark enough? I'm not looking for super dark tint or anything, but hoping 50% is enough.

They are charging $450 for all of the windows for 3M's best ceramic film. Is that price competitive? Thanks!

50% tint will be pretty light. If you have a dark interior color it will help to make the tint look darker. I live in MN and the legal limit is also 50% but went with 30% to get a little darker. $450 is a pretty good price, just make sure that it is the crystalline product.

I'd think you could get away with 35% there. That's what I have and it's not really noticeable.

Thanks for the input. Will make sure it’s Crystalline.

Will the shop go to 35% in the front even though it’s not allowed in VA?

Seeing this video on YouTube comparing 35% and 50% on a silver Infiniti makes me think I should go with 50%. 35% might be a bit too dark for me.

I did 35 on mine here in MN. Was planning on doing 50 But after seeing how light it was I went with 35. When you go to the tiny shop just have them show you different levels. But I got a letter from the eye doctor just in case I get pulled over. My other friend with a gsf went even darker but he also has a letter.

I think I know the place you're getting your tint done, if so thats where I got my GSF done. The owner is a great dude and he will tint to percentage you want. I have 35% on all the door windows and 20% for the rear windshield which makes it darker than it really is. $450 is not bad, more average pricing around the area if you're getting the higher end film.

@cp44 Tint FX, they have great ratings. I'll speak with them during pre-installation on Friday to see what would be best for me
