Hey guys new to the Club. Just took delivery of my 2016 GS F last night. My carbon fiber just under the the vent on drivers side is cracked and fell off. Dealer I purchased from (mercedes) is looking into repairing this. I dont need warranty to cover it, but looking for the how to on replacing or fixing it. is it going to be a dealer only repair? Do i need to pull the dash out?

thank s

That's bananas to me that they don't use real CF? I always throught GSF and the cf package with RCF's included real cf?

I have seen on the RCF when the window switches delaminate the coating is silver underneathe...

Crazy. For as much as this car costs, it should be real carbon.

And they decide to make the lowest part of our front end ( susceptible to damage ) of real carbon fibre and charge 3k+ for a new one.
Really doesn't make sense to me.

Why would you post misinformation? It is for sure real carbon fiber. I took it apart and you can see the weave underneath.

I had this issue on my GSF and the dealer replaced it under warranty. I see early signs of other pieces starting to delaminate. If it gets worse, I will peel it off and have it recleared just like the front bumper trim.

Same issue. 2016 GSF, 41k miles, bought new in Huntsville, AL. Glove box and driver side vent trims replaced by dealer warranty and "good will", respectively. Center console doing same thing now and they called Lexus, who said, "not covered". I'm going to call Lexus and see what can be done, if anything.

Rear spoiler starting to peel on edges too... more like a clear coat lift, but same type of issue.

Checked warranty booklet, and, sure enough, not covered after 48 months, 50k miles. Platinum extended warranty 8yrs/75k miles, makes no difference, powertrain only.

Annoying given the expectations of Lexus quality.

That really sucks man. I feel for everyone having these issues especially in a Lexus and a $90K car. Does the ISF have issues like this?

The IS F had issues with door panels, but I don't remember anything about the CF trim.

Fudge. Noticed the same is starting to happen to mine. It’s just now outside of the bumper to bumper warranty. Anyone have any luck getting Lexus corporate to address this issue outside of warranty?

this is repairable. I’ve had a the dash and vent trims repaired. It’s time consuming but fixable

What did you end up doing to repair it? Remove clear coat and re-apply?
