Default Headlight malfunction warning

Has anyone had the "Headlight malfunction See Dealer" yellow triangle warning come on? It has come on twice in the last few years so it doesn't happen often. It came on last night when I launched it in S+ on relatively flat ground. I had nothing heavy in the trunk and no passengers. The warning disappeared after I shut off the car and turned it back on. The headlights did the dip and reset itself. The warning didn't come back on for the rest of the night.

I did a search on the forum and read all the related posts regarding: auto leveling sensors and uphill/downhill/weight distribution causing the headlights to adjust up or down. I just want to see if anyone else had this happen to their GSF, before I bring it into the dealers. It's not a big deal because it doesn't happen often, and it sorts itself out if I restart the car. But if this needs to be sorted I want to get it done before the warranty runs out.

Thanks in advance.

I had the headlight warning issue also before. Happened like 3 times in a few months span. It would either happen on hard acceleration or very bump road but would go away after restart of car. I thought it was not a big issue also as the headlights were still working even with warning light on. Took to dealer and they check it out and it was the driver side headlight leveler sensor. You can’t just replaced the sensor as it’s built into the whole headlight unit. Replaced whole driver side headlight under warranty about 1 yr ago and have not had any issues since but you should getting it taken care of before warranty ends as 1 headlight was $3k+.

Those dastardly auto manufacturers. I once rode around in a 98 black on black Chrylser 300 without AC for 3 years because they wanted to charge me $1800 to replace a sensor. You had to remove the dashboard to get to the sensor. The part was only 180 something dollars.

Just checked and unfortunately the basic warranty is over. Guess I'll keep an eye on it, hopefully it doesn't come back. Lights still work and dip upon startup.

Thanks though!
