Doug DeMuro's thoughts about the GSF
I watched his youtube video, and I sort of respect for his opinions. I mean, that's what he does, and we have to take that into consideration and respect it.
However, I don't agree with the indicator operation issue he was talking about, what's so difficult about operating the indicator stick??
HEAVY FINGER?
Here is a video I made regarding this issue.

yeah, I didn’t understand the blinker issue. Perhaps it’s just an issue with that particular car. I bought my GSF new and it was the first car I had without the traditional clicker. I figured it out within 2 seconds of using it and actually like it. I really do not see how he’s having issues with it at all.
Blinker situation is an issue for some, BMW removed it on all newer models. I drove many cars with those blinkers and while its not something I even care about, I did end up missing cancelations and instead turned on other blinker.

After watching his review on the LX and then the Toyota Landcruiser, I realized this guy is BS.
He bashed the LX's "quirks and features" based on its price tag. But in his other review of Toyota Landcruiser, he praised the car which if you don't know, the price tag isn't far behind the LX. Talking about double standard or something, or just BS.
So, take his review with a grain of BS.

Yes Doug, my GS F might be slow and has outdated technology, but every time I drive it I get a thrill when I hear that roar and growl of that V8. It’s very satisfying to me and I’d buy another one just to keep as a spare if I could afford it.
I’d have to give it an abarker22 score of 10/10.
Ha ha!

I want to buy a 2020 model just to keep around as a spare, if I could afford it!
I wonder if the dealers are willing to make a good deal on a 2020, considering the production has ended? Its not like these cars sell well as “new”, which Doug is right that they are a used bargain.
Here is a synopsis for people who don't want to watch the video.
Doug says: The GSF was introduced several years ago, and it needs a refresh. But instead the model is being dropped by Toyota. It's a pleasant car, with a fine interior, nice lines, a likeable instrument display, and reasonable performance, but it's not as good as its German competitors. It feels heavy going around corners, there's an irritating delay before it downshifts, and the data screen menu sucks. It's not worth $90k.
However, he says, in a few years the German competitors will be broken, and the Lexus will still be reliable. It will be an excellent used car.

Also, I don't think he really drive this car much since he said "delay before downshift" and "heavy going around corner". The delay before downshift only happened if the rev is low, or in Normal mode, in Sport+ I did not experience that at all.
Going around corner is much smoother and rotate better than E63 that I had before. Not sure why he complain about handling....? Maybe adaptive suspension is set on comfort?
I bought it new and think its definitely worth it for me... drive nicely on back road... even on track...
The NA V8 shy away from those Turbo V8 due to HP/Torque, but the sound and driving experience on road is definitely better on NA engine, which is what I enjoy the most.

I dont think he understand the demographic of this car at all. People who shop this car are the one who wants a daily car that is extremely capable, which tend to move away from M car or AMG.

I didn’t buy it to race or based on comparable specs. I bought it to enjoy and it checks all the boxes for me. It’s all about the demographics. That’s what Doug is misunderstanding. Agreed!!

I have owned M cars and AMG cars as well, I would pay a premium just for reliability.
With age, this becomes an important aspect of car ownership.
What's the point of buying a brand new M5 or E63 AMG if it's gonna be in the workshop half the time?

My M3, 335i, and M235i combined cost me less then Honda and Lexus.
