Is this a good deal? Potential GS F buyer
Hey guys,
Really have been liking the look of the GS F and actually went in drove this car a couple days ago and enjoyed it. I was wondering if you guys thought it was a fair price?
https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...ckType=listing
Couple of n00b questions:
1. The main difference from the 16 models to newer is the suspension. Is this a game changer? I prob won't ever be on the track, just a commuter car.
2. Mileage seems low. Was it a track car?
3. I live in northern VA, will I have to swap for winter tires? This might be a decider for me, I don't want to have to do anything extra.
Thanks!

Just my 2 cents.

2. Lots of GSF will have low mileage. Ways to tell if it’s a track car is to look at theLexus service records and see if things like brakes or tires were replaced at like 5k miles.
3. I live in the area, on the MD side, and even leased my RX from that dealer you linked. My GSF was absolutely useless with the stock tires in snow. So yes, you need winter wheels if it snows. But they’re fine ish in cold weather though.

From what I have seen the track cars were registered in Missouri or Kentucky and have extremely low miles (2k or less).
Like mentioned before, look at the service history to see if the brake pads and rotors were changed out early in life.
I would try to get them closer to the $54k mark on this particular car.

Thanks - any idea how to get them down to 54? they won't budge at all.

Its the end of the month and end of the year and dealers are always trying to move cars around this time. You could
also look at the safety inspection from the dealer, if the brakes or tires are near their minimum "L-Certified" requirement
you could use that as a bargaining tool. Best of luck !

its a nice car , if you can wait , wait till Jan so its officially 3 years old and try to get a better deal. A good deal would be 52K . 56k is a bit high seeing alot of them on autotrader for low 50s.

Go on to auto trader and cars.com. There are 2016 GSF'S certified for $ 51,000.00. At $ 56,000.00 you are getting screwed big time. In 2016 they were selling for $ 67,000.00 brand new. Right now KBB has the trade in value for the GSF 2016 at $ 41,000.00 to $ 43,000.00. Just hate to see you get the stick stuck up your *ss and snapped off. If you get away from the car being L certified you can get a GSF 2016 for $ 46,000.00 to $ 49,000.00. Be careful with Lexus dealers, they will really put it to you if they think you Are a Lexus fan boy. I know.
For example if you buy that GSF for $ 56,000.00 and say 2 months later you wanted out, they would offer you $ 41,000.00 to $ 43,000.00. you will be getting screwed at $ 56,000.00. I know because I bought a GSF in late 2016 for $ 67,000.00 brand new. I was offered $ 42,000.00 just 2 weeks ago.

Appreciate this. I think I am going to pass. I want to wait for a 2017 and get the better suspension included.
