its the same as the back window. if you tint it do you not use the rear sun shade? its an option to have darker "tint" without having to go past the legal limit

To each his own, I guess. Tint sure works for me

by chance, any way of updating "brake hold" feature? that would be awesome to see if its just an ecu and button!

That one is a bit more challenging from a parts and pieces perspective. The brake hold function depends on the skid control ECU and the brake actuator. The actuator in the GS F is unique to this model. Not even the other GS's have this unit from what I can divine. So, this would be a pretty challenging implementation to say the least. Swapping out the ABS actuator is not for the faint of heart, and connecting it up and assuming you won't lose existing features and functionality is very optimistic.

Also - it looks like this feature was incorporated in the 2018MY, so 2018 and 2019 models have it from the factory.

checked out a model with the screen today. the screen definitely has a lip on it to cover the door and of course the parts department didn't know if this had to be cut out of the panel when they order the panel but thats what they assumed.

Found a pic of inside of each panel. best option looks like to buy it used and replace the panel or cut into the door and move the shade. looks like our doors should come with all the spots to screw in the shade

So to be clear the door panel is the same thickness at the top? not thicker/wider?

thanks!

as far as i can tell you just have to cutout n opening for the shade to go through and thats it. looks like the shade has a lip to cover the cut

bacon, where did you find that door panel/ I would like to purchase a salvaged door panel regardless of color so I can make my own measurements etc; before cutting into my panel!

thank you!!

pretty sure those are the 2 places. All the places have one side only and they come with the big shade so it’s cheaper than buying one new. If those don’t work then go to car-parts.com and search for 2013 and it’ll be posted as la21 in the description.

better have a write up with pictures when you do it lol

I'd love to have the brake hold feature on my car. It's so useful.

So to clairfy, this would give you auto shades on the rear passenger windows, similar to the rear window?

no they are manual still but it gives you additional shade. The shades have pull tabs and the frames have hooks
