I dont like the rubberized finish, but then I saw this

Amazon Amazon

And now I am very, very tempted. You did remove the emblems, correct? How did you do the "L"?

It couldn't be any easier. No removal of anything. Tape a small square around each emblem wirh painters tape and cover everything with towels, newspaper, etc so all you see is the square around the emblem. Lay down 6-8 coats over the entire emblem, car paint, everything. I only did 5 min or so between coats. Peel when dry and the plastidip literally cuts itself along the edges as long as you peel carefully. Lots of youtube vids of the process.

if you don't like the results you can always peel the whole thing off. Just make sure you do a good tape job.

Love the plastidip on my Taco, hate it on the GS.

it's probably because the rubberized look is more rugged, which doesn't fit the GS, imo. And there's already a lot of Black Pearl accents on the trim in the back, so it's more consistent.

Thanks for the closeups. The plastidip looks great on the Taco.

Thats a fair assessment. Maybe some day when I'm feeling less lazy I'll go that route as well.

That's the beauty of Plastidip. Peel it off if you don't like it!

Ive emailed the dude on ebay that was linked up in the thread asking him to do all the F emblems for me, I hope he says ok that way I get all the F, GS and rear L in the black pearl. I also asked if he would do the front emblem.

Hate to rain on the parade but the black pearl emblems will only last about a year before they start to chip and come off. If you’re looking for an alternative to the matte plastidip look, I was able to vinyl wrap my rear L emblem and “RC” with pretty good results. It’s shiny and black. If that’s something you’re interested in. Just throwing it out there

I've made some pre cut pieces for the front emblem. If you were interested in it, shoot me a PM.

Here's some pictures. It's subtle in pictures.
