Carbon Fiber Refinishing
It's been a while since this thread was live: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...n-fiber-2.html
I'm following up since pretty much the rest of the CF in the interior started to lift and peel. I watched a YouTube video by All Things F (I like this channel enough to have subscribed) showing how to remove all the panels, and he recommended a guy in Tampa for refinishing. I'll do lots of things on my cars, but I don't do anything with body work or paint of any kind because I know I am not good at it, and despite many attempts, I just don't get the results I want when I do it. So, I sent 5 pieces to Scott last week. He's working on them now. I am really hoping to see the CF look good again. I've been staring at the ugly lifted coating for too long.
Here's the video, maybe it will help others here:

Anyone West Coast based, I am currently working with my shop and CF guy figuring out how he can open access to the rest of the nation via shipping. Currently, you have to be located in the area, but I am working on it. I recognized the need in the community now that there has been enough time and also working on a mix that shouldn't fail with cold temps like the current. See my posted pics from my GSF
I got my trim back from SMA yesterday and installed it today. It looks the same as it did when we bought the car. I could not be happier with the results. I shipped out on a Friday with UPS, it was received on the following Tuesday, and shipped back to me that Friday. Yes, you can drive the car with the pieces removed, but you need to do something for the rear of the door cards to stabilize them. I used painter's tape to hold the back edge in place. The rest was simple and easy.
