Headlight Hazing After Auto Washing
When I bought my '13 used, I was given a year pass at the local automatic wash place across the street from the dealer. I have had the car 7 months and have used it 3 times when I was in a weak moment.
Every single time I've gone through the system, my headlights look hazy across the top. I take a little polish and it mostly rubs out easily but it doesn't do this when I hand wash the car.
I'll take a pic and post it later but I know this can't be normal.

My '13 GS is showing general hazing over the top of the headlamp (due to age/sun exposure/heat/oxidation). I'm surprised it only appears for you after an automatic car wash. The only thing I can suggest is that maybe the water temp/heat makes it suddenly worse.
Generally, I see the hazing on the headlights moreso when the car is clean/just washed either by hand or through an automatic car wash.

Automatic car washes often use various waxes and rinses that can produce a haze effect on glass and clear plastics somewhat similar to how polarized sunglasses can make certain objects have a rainbow appearance. But, I take it that this haze you see is indeed in the plastic lens material.

If your car is a 2013 and it's lived outside most of its life or gets driven a lot, it might be starting to "haze and craze" already.

Yes, I understand that but they look good before the wash and look hazed after the wash. I've cleaned up more headlights on older cars than I can count. Just water and the mild wash I use doesn't cause them to haze up. I can use my light polishing compound to take the haze away but it something in the washing process or the chemicals that is doing it. Probably what bclexus stated about the chemicals. I don't apply any kind of treatments or rinses when I wash it and I microfiber dry it, not blow dry it with industrial fans.
