Navigation Voice Commands
I recently traded my 2013 GS for a 2018 GSF-Sport. On my 13, I could speak a destination and it would easily be found. With my 18 it doesn’t recognize anything. I hit the voice command button, say “Navigation” and then the options are limited. I can select “Find a POI”, but when I say something like “Find Washington National Cathedral” it comes up with nothing, where my 13 would find it easily. I don’t want to always use Destination Assist so Iwas hoping someone mayhave some tips.
Thanks.
Thanks.

The verdict, in short, is that the technology person at the dealer was stumped. I showed them this post and we used your example and found that it didn't work. They're going to escalate and see what they can find out for us (we'll see if anything actually happens).
This could just be random coincidence, but when I was playing around in the new car yesterday setting it up to my liking I tried different POI's in the Raleigh area and at first, it didn't work either. Then I went to input my home address and noticed the state was still on Michigan (where I bought the car). After changing the state to North Carolina, several of the POI's work (i.e. "PNC Arena").
I remember in my 2006 IS350 that I would choose the region where I was traveling (didn't have the option to choose the state), but I can't remember how the 2013 navigation was (car is already a distant memory). If in 2013 the navigation was the same as my IS then maybe this is the reason for not finding specific POI's?
