Winter Rims and Tires for 2013 GS350 AWD
Hey guys,
I am shopping for winter rims and tires for my car. I was looking at 17`` wheels and found these http://www.1010tires.com/Wheels/DAI+...ehicleid=97710 for a reasonable price. I also talked to the staff from that website and they assure me that the wheel is going to fit on my car.
The problem I am encountering is with regards to the tires. The 1010tires website is recommending 225/50R17. But I have found 215/55R17 tires to be more economical and if you check the tire size of that tire it is much closer to the stock size. Stock Tire size for my car is 235/45R18 and 225/50R17 is only a difference of 0.06%. The following link http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Tire-...5R17/225-50R17 will show you the difference between the tire sizes. Also from what I have researched online a slightly narrower tire with a larger sidewall is better for winter driving.
So my question is will 215/55R17 work on my car with the 17" wheels I linked earlier?
Thanks

If you are worried about load rating on a 215/55 you just have to get the proper tire. I had 215/55's on my Hyundai Genesis that weighed 4300lbs and had no problems and I plan to put them on the GS this winter as well.

I run the 225's. I would not go any smaller. They can get squirrely under hard cornering / braking with the heavy weight of the GS (you definitely remember quick that you are not on stock tires). 215's would be even worse.

While we're on the topic... if I get 17" GS-350 rims from an older GS (say a 3rd gen) say off Ebay, etc, will they fit on a 2015 F-Sport?
