'16-'17 GS after-market Remote Start
Can someone confirm if there is an aftermarket remote start for the 2017 GS? I know that the app and key fob work with the Lexus Enform, but I was hoping that someone on the CL forum had installed an aftermarket remote start that still uses the OEM key fob. The Lexus system just basically is worthless for me.

why is the factory system worthless to you?
If you use the fob, you will still have poor range even with the aftermarket system. It will also still shut off when you open a door (very annoying). I am using a Viper system, BTW

Probably because the OEM system requires a $299/year subscription to have the key fob and app remote start. I'm assuming aftermarket systems don't have a yearly subscription...

I may just be in poor network areas most of the time but often using the remote either doesn't work, or takes 10-15 sec to start and I NEVER know when it is going to be one or the other. I don't need the long distance, I just want to push the button and it start. The app is even worse for me as far as dependability goes. So, if there is a proven dedicated remote start system for my GS that I can have installed, I'd rather have that option than paying for a service that I find unreliable and awkward. "Proven" is the key word here.

My fob has to be so close that I never use it. To use the app on the Viper Smart Start, there is a fee.

I got the 3 year and it works most of the time. I use it all the time regardless of weather/temp. I have a short commute and want the car to warm up fully on each trip. If you are wanting 100% reliable, look for another option....
Don't get me wrong, I still don't regret my decision.

When I bought my 4GS, I had the dealership install an aftermarket remote start as an accessory item. It has worked flawlessly over the last couple of years with excellent range. Its made by a company called Advent. The line of products is called "Pursuit." More info here: http://www.adventproducts.com/pursuit/remote-start/
I paid the dealership an excessive price ($700) for the product, bypass and installation but it was well worth it for me at the time...esp. in the winter to get the car warmed up for a few minutes before I get in. Its not fancy in the sense that it DOESN'T tell me when the car is on, has turned off (if left for more than 12minutes remotely started), and there are no associated apps to download...but it does the job!
