Default Just Bought a 2014 GS350 and already got a dent.

Hello ClubLexus,
Just joined the Site and making my first post. Bought a 2014 GS 350 and am loving everything about this car. Howerver, after having it for three months someone has already pushed in my drivers side door. There are no scratches so it looks like someone fell into it. Was at a restaurant and there were no cameras. Went to Caliber Collision which is a certified Lexus repair shop and my insurance Co. works with them. Unfortunately to fix it......$1,400.00 to repair the dent and blend three panels. While I'm getting it fixed, I think I'm going to get a rear spoiler put on ($400.00 from dealership already Painted). I have a $500.00 deductible.

Stock The day I got it:

Dent:

Anyway, Glad to be here.

Regards,
ChazZ

I had one on my rear passenger door after a couple months of ownership too. It sucks!

If no paint came off, why didn't you go the Paintless Dent Removal route first? That white is notoriously hard to get right. Hope you get good results.

I agree. Go with paintless dent removal. 'There are a lot of good ones in our area and that should be way less than your deductible to repair.

A good shop can PDR that any day of the week. I have seen some horrendous dents get fixed...yours isn't bad at all.

Good PDR can easily fix that.

Sorry to hear that but echo the sentiment of others about looking into the paintless dent removal first. Also, $400 for an OEM color matched spoiler is a little steep as reputable sellers/Lexus dealerships on eBay have them for much less (and its not a very difficult task to DIY as there are lots of threads on it already):

Agreed. Went to the Lexus dealership today and they suggested the same thing rather than repainting. They have someone that goes to the Dealership and does Dent Removal at their Dealership (on site) for $100-$200. Probably will have it done next week, and they said they would give me a loaner while they have it for they day. Let you know how it goes.

Any idea why the spoilers are 129 and 300 for the 2 ebay links? What is the difference?

The $129 is the genuine Lexus spoiler for our cars, great deal if they have your color instock. The $300 is the price pretty much every dealer is selling it for online. Dealers make a hefty profit on genuine parts.
