Pole Position
Could it be due to cars like the RX having a lot of issues, like the droning and the vibration?

Granted I am interested in "Initial Quality", but there are many issues included in there that I would not consider a quality. I've never paid attention to this survey. In the past it included any dealer service visit including how do I turn on my radio or there is a strange noise (which is normal), so to me a lot of inexperienced users and getting use to the vehicle. Long term reliability/quality is more important to me and Lexus/Toyota have always been near the top (and why I have never owned a German vehicle).

If this is the same initial quality survey that GM brags about, then it's a joke. I've had two acquaintances lemon their new C7 Z06's and one buddy with a C6 GranSport blow his motor 2 years into the car's life. I figure the results of this survey may vary a couple of years into the vehicle's lifespan.

IQS is a joke really if you look at the stuff they take as "initial quality" metrics. Hint: they consider subjective usability of the navigation as one of the perceptions of "initial quality". What people actually care about is the VDS(vehicle dependability study).
