The paint is literally falling off my car.
63k miles and went to wash my car yesterday and was like WTF. I looked at the front bumper and noticed the paint was falling off of my car. Never ever happened on any car of mine. How could have this happened? Is this covered under warranty?

You could take it by the dealer and ask, but they're going to say "No, of course not."
That sucks though. These water based paints they use now are terrible.

Was your car a CPO or purchased new? Many CPO cars have front and rear bumpers painted by the dealer for cosmetic reasons. If the dealer didn't prep the car correctly, then this type of thing can happen. If you purchased it new, then it's a manufacturer defect. I once had a Mazda that the entire cars clear coat started to shed off the car. The car was out of warranty but Mazda repainted the entire car.

Almost certain it is a typical quick-and-dirty 'cut all corners' repaint job.

Yeap as others mentioned it's been repainted. Look like bad clear coat and paint job. If you bought it from Lexus dealer it's worth trying to let them fix it or not email Lexus USA a long story along with the pictures. Lexus USA want happy customers.

It looks like the previous owner had the bumper repainted cheaply. Since you bought your car used rather than CPO or new, you get the car in the "as is" condition and the dealer would not be on the hook to help you out with this issue. Just go to a reputable body shop, have the paint stripped from the bumper, and have them repaint it (along with any blending that would be necessary to match the bumper to body). I've heard that silver is one of the hardest colors to match...so good luck.

That definitely should not be happening. Like others have mentioned it looks like the bumper was repainted at some point in time. Silver is a very hard color to match and so is Starfire pearl. Didn't know that until I upgraded to the f sport bumper and the paint shop was showing me different shades of Starfire pearl.

Tell me about it. I took my silver 2014 GS350 to a body shop to fix a small scratch on the trunk lid. They had to repaint the lid 3x before the color match was suitable to me. The metallic flakes in silver need to orient the right way to match the other panels and it may look OK straight on but on a bias, it won't look right. They didn't blend which made any difference very noticeable. Silver is tough.
I bought a CPO and the dealership also re-painted/touched up the front and rear bumpers. I think it's pretty normal. You just hope they didn't do too cheap of a job or else you will get flaking etc.
