Driver side wiper not working
So it rained Thursday. Turned my wipers on, to which only the passenger side worked. When I got home I attempted to look at the wiper setup to see what may be wrong. I pulled up on the passenger side to get them into "snow mode". The passenger side wiper popped up, but the driver side did not. Further looking at the driver side now shows the spring mechanism not holding the wiper down far enough for the wiper assembly to go beneath the hood. I don't think it is the motor, as the passenger side still works. However, I believe it likely is the "windshield wiper link assembly" http://www.lexuspartsnow.com/parts/l...d-wiper,,85160
I have an appointment Monday morning for the dealership to review and fix. Will that be a difficult fix? I asked the dealer if they have that particular part in stock..."no. There are only 10 in the US, and only 1 in Chicago...where we typically pull parts from." It only takes them a day to get a part, so in theory I will be without my car Monday and Tuesday. Is this something that anyone has ever seen not work correctly? I've never heard of this part breaking...especially on a brand new vehicle with 1,100 miles.
We haven't had much rain since I got the car, so the wipers could have been broken from the factory. Either way, it will be a warranty claim. Oh well I guess. Thanks.

Dumb question perhaps... Have you checked that the driver's wiper arm is actually bolted on tightly? I've seen this issue several times, hence the question.

@caha14 You are the man!!! That worked. The bolt didn't seem loose, but I was able to tighten it quite a bit, which tightened the spring and now snow mode works and the wipers work! Woohoo!
Thank you sir!
Size of that bolt is 17/32 just for future reference.

Awesome, glad it wasn't anything more serious! I'm surprised it happened to such a new car, but hey, we've seen worse. :-)
