Warped wheel and bent hub
So I dropped my car off to my dealer yesterday to fix some plastic trim pieces they scratched on a previous visit and to look into a new noise I was hearing coming from the rear passenger side of the vehicle. I took a tech for a ride in the parking lot and he quicjky identified the noise and isolated it to the passenger rear wheel area.
Today i received and phone call and e-mail with the subject line reading (warped wheel and bent hub) with a video attached showing the slight wobble in the wheel. I'm having to pay out of pocket $1,100 to have the wheel hub replaced because its damaged and they said they can't warranty it. But because of previous service issues I've had with them they offered me a free alignment.
So the noise I was hearing is gone with the wheel hub replacement but the wheel is supposedly warped and that's causing the slight wobble. I'm working with them to see if this is covered under the road hazard warranty I bought when I purchased the vehicle and have yet to use. If not I will look into Vossen's 5 year workmanship warranty to see if they will cover the warped wheel. This wheel has never been curbed, and I cant for the life of me figure out how I ended up with a bent hub either.
any thoughts?

You sure seem to have a lot of problems with your car and dealer...

Your're telling me! Most of my problems were in the form of service from the dealership just within the last year with my GS and RX at the new Park Place Plano Location. This car is my 3rd Lexus. My parents have been driving them since 1992 and have owned 8 Lexus. They've all been wonderful and reliable. I even got my first job at Park Place Lexus in 2000 as a service porter on the service drive when I was in High school. During college at SMU I was a sales assistant at Sewell Lexus Dallas for 4 years. I love Lexus cars and I just know they are better than what I'm experiencing lately.
I've had over a dozen brand new cars through the years (Ford,Jeep, Audi, Acura, BMW, Honda, RAM, 2 Infiniti's. All were leased cars except the last infiniti M37S which was totaled after only 7 months and never had any problems like the ones I've had in the last year with my GS.
I will say that my wife's RX is as solid as can be and hasn't had any issues and its approaching 75k on the odometer and its 6 years old. I only had one bad service visit with that car and that was back in January.

The road hazard warranty isn't going to cover aftermarket wheels (you mentioned Vossen).

Seems like an awfully high price to change the wheel hub. Are you able to shop around? Maybe even buy your own parts and have them put it in?

PDF84 - I seem to recall that you have had two of your Vossen wheels repaired/refinished (worked on) by the dealership's wheel expert. Is the wrapped wheel one of those previously repaired wheels?

And to be clear park place doesn't have a wheel expert. I bought my wheels from my local vossen dealer (Wheel Experts) in Dallas which happens to be owned by a good friend of mine I've known since high school. I spoke with my buddy Ben at Wheel Experts about this Friday evening and he's calling Vossen tomorrow to see if they will warranty the wheel. I will be so happy if they do, this wheel is all original and hasn't been curbed or repaired in any way.

I did have to pay for a new hub to replace the bent one. That was $998.08 and it included the hub & bearing assembly, as well as re surfacing the rotor and an alignment and labor.
