F Sport RWD Tire options
My wifes GS350 F Sport RWD is approaching 50k miles and the stock staggered setup is getting quite worn. Living in WI, I swap out tires/wheels in the winter, so no need for all seasons.
Question is this, the summer set are staggered and based on what i can find on TireRack, the options are 1 of 2 Both of which are fairly soft high performance rubber which the wife does NOT require. What other options or alternate sizes might work? I am looking for a tire with better wear/longevity rather than outright grip.
Any input would be helpful. I have a good month or so before I need to swap out the winter set.
Thanks!
Brandon

Try searching these sizes....245/40/19 Front and 275/35/19 Rear. These tires are only 10mm wider than the original size and other GS owners in the forum are also using these sizes. It will also give you more Tire Brand selections in Tirerack.com and other tire stores.

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought there was a relationship between tire width and sidewall height so a 245 tire would have a slightly taller sidewall than a 235 tire even though both are rated as 40 series. If the sidewalk is taller (considering the same size rim), then the rotational diameter will be different and cause the speedo to be off slightly.

When the OEM Bridgestones wear out I will likely get the wider tires so that I can get all seasons. We just had the second time this winter here in Atlanta/North Georgia when I had to leave it parked, thanks to frozen precipitation on the roads. Not fun at all

I been thinking about it too..
I have 235/40/19 and 265/34/19 in the back.. with that choice, there aren't many.
currently i have Dunlops in mine but i want to switch over to pilot super sport's when the dunlop wear out..
does anyone have the 245's and 275's pictures? does it stick out anymore in the back?

It will cause a speedo error of a little over 2% and increase the ride height of the rear by 0.27"
Putting the 245's on the front increases the ride height by 0.15" as well

Oh those plus sizes look perfect for the GS wheels. The OEMs are stretching a bit and I don't like it.
I'll be going with that size for sure. What's the rating on the Pilot SS? More than 30K miles?

I'm actually thinking of ordering a set of Falkens from Discount in the OEM staggered sizes. The prices are less than the fore-mentioned brands, performance is good, I'm not going to track my car and I'm not trying to impress anybody.

MPSS's are rated 30K unlees it's a staggered fitment preventing rotation. In that case they are rated 15k miles. That's the only tire I have bought since they were available. Be aware that deviating from oe tires may cause more noise, check the tread pattern before buying.

Only 15K miles? Oh no thanks then.
