I usually don't use the rear or side sunshades unless it's blazing hot or I have people in the back seat, which is rare. On a recent trip to Alabama, I used all day. I also use the shade at night to shield my eyes from the seemingly thousands of lifted pick ups that are behind me. Probably use it more for night than any other time

I have the rear power shade and side shades up all the time - TX resident here. As we know.. the rear one auto folds up & down when the car is put in reverse, so that's a big plus.

If I lived in a moderate summer or mixed climate area, I would probably keep them down besides when parking the car for long period of time in direct sunlight.

If I lived in a place with "ideal" temperature year around (i.e. most of Cali), I would probably have them down almost all of the time.

Oh, by the way.. I have people in my rear seats on occasion and they love using them. It's definitely a "luxury" class item.

Texas is HOT. Both side & rear sunscreens always up and front sunscreen when parked during the day.

When parking in the sun for a long time, and when it's sunny out. honestly kinda difficult at night so I lower it.

I've only used it to show friends that feature. I never think to use it otherwise.

Ever since I tinted the windows, I rarely use the shade now. Usually only when the kids are in the back and the sun is coming in from that rear window.

My windows are tinted; however, I use the rear shade when the car is parked outside during the day. This includes placing a sunshade in front with the windows opened slightly for relief. The sun and heat in San Antonio is relentless.
